Children's Clinical Support Worker

This role involves supporting children and young adults with physical and learning disabilities and their families within the home. You'll be working to an individualised support plan, the purpose of this position is to support services users with clinical and personal care and ensuring the service user has a secure and happy childhood and are kept safe from harm.

Support duties will therefore include assisting the service user with a variety of duties, and in doing so the Children's Clinical Support Worker will observe the following.

Experience required:

∙ Diabetes management
∙ PEG Feeding
∙ NGT Feeding
∙ Epilepsy management
∙ Epi pen
∙ Cough assist
∙ Home ventilation
∙ Personal care

∙ To work with children with a variety of care needs in their own homes, providing clinical and personal care, ensuring that physical and emotional needs are met
∙ To support children by providing transport or escorting them in transport
∙ To effectively deal with emergencies if they arise
∙ To follow care plans and risk assessments
∙ To record a daily log at the end of each shift
∙ To ensure punctuality and professionalism
∙ To report any concerns through correct management channels and communicate effectively

Key Functions:

∙ To be assertive and observe health care changes
∙ Understand the clinical needs of the client and provide appropriate care in line with the care plan
∙ You will provide personal care , manual handling and administer medication
