We pride ourselves on being a family run independent provider of specialist care and support for children and young adults. We have no franchises and we are not nationwide we are small and local and here to directly meet the needs of our local community.

Jo Mifsud
Jo is a Registered Social Worker with Social Work England and has been supporting disabled children and young people and their families for the past 28 years. She began her career as a special needs nanny and then a community care worker in the early 90's before moving on to gaining a degree in learning disabilities as a specialism and the further a social work qualification. She practiced as a social worker for both Hampshire County Council and Portsmouth city council before founding Appletree Support Ltd in 2007. Jo comments;
 "Many care companies are owned by larger scale businesses, have multiple branches or franchise models. Appletree's leadership is different, as the director I have undertaken every role that I expect my employees to carry out. My leadership team are not hidden away in tiers of hierarchy, they are who picks up the phone, they are who's at your door to see how it’s all going and they are who is there when you need us. We all know everyone by name and ensure that there is an open organisational culture with the wellbeing of our clients and staff at the centre".

Jo is a member of the "Chartered Management Institute" and offers coaching and mentoring to local services and charities.
Registered Manager
Amie Merrett
Amie has worked in the care industry for 23 years and has gained qualifications in health and social care management. She has worked in both clinical , community and residential settings. Since being at Appletree has gained knowledge an understanding and directly manages the whole staff team at Appletree.
She is there to discuss and support requirements and changes in care needs, and work alongside the clinical and complex care team. She also works in the community and directly leads the office and leadership team, working alongside them carrying out compliance checks. Amie says about her job:
"As a team we are proud to deliver high quality care to our clients and support to our support workers. I like to know I have put a smile on at least one persons face a day as this makes me feel passionate and proud to manage Appletree".

Kellie Grieves
Kellie started her career in care as a community care worker and carried out her Nursing training alongside her work whist raising her children. She understands the needs of the families Appletree works with having had two children herself with complex and multiple health care requirements. She has been a valuable stakeholder of Appletree since 2007. She has been registered with the NMC for the past 15 years and supports our service by offering training, consultation and professional assessments of care where required. Kellie says about her job:
 "I have enjoyed being involved in Appletree's journey over the past 15 year. It's been so rewarding to meet and work with the clients and staff of the service".
Finance Officer
Zoe Standing
Zoe comes from a financial background managing teams of people within commercial industry but after having her three children she retrained as a bookkeeper and furthered her financial qualifications in other lines of finance administration. This year she will has been with Appletree for ten years. She is a dedicated and supportive member of the team and her experience with contracts and regulations in the sector in invaluable. She works as part of our management team to ensure smooth running's of the finances of the service and much more. Zoe says about her job:
 "I have very much enjoyed the past 10 years with Appletree and find my role very rewarding whilst also being part of a fantastic team".
Complex Care Coordinator
Dominique Cooper
Dominique has worked in the children's care industry for 20 years and has gained qualifications in Residential children's social care management. She has worked in both clinical , community and residential settings. She is the friendly voice on the phone that our staff and clients get to know , she is there to discuss support requirements and changes in care needs. She also works in the community and directly leads the care team working alongside them carrying out spot checks and on site support. Dom says about her job:
 "I am proud to be part of a team that delivers high quality complex care to our clients and support to our support workers. I feel proud to work at Appletree and lead a compassionate team".
Education and Autism Consultant
Sue Stephens
Sue has been a stakeholder of Appletree for the past 15 years. She is an educational specialist in the field of Autism. Having been a head teacher for a school for Autistic children as well as a lead trainer and conference speaker for the National Autistic Society, her expertise and training support for our service is invaluable.
